      Some of you are visiting our site because you would like to help animals in need by practicing veterinary medicine. You also likely realize that they are intelligent beings who deserve protection from harm in addition to good health.

      So why then, do so many universities still treat animals as objects? Not only is in incorrect scientifically, these universities are also the very places that are supposed to teach and maintain care of animals.

      Fortunately enough, there have been countless individuals and groups that have stood up and created positive changes. Several schools now offer alternatives and as a result there are increased options for students. This isn’t the case at every university, so as a student or prospective student there is a certain degree of due diligence. Fortunately however, there is much information and guidance to be found.

      When choosing a veterinary school, you may want to consider their position on things like terminal surgeries as well as their ethics in general regarding animal well-being. We are here to assist you in informing yourself about ethical alternatives. And remember — you are never alone! The community of like-minded people and consensus on these issues is often far more significant than we realize.
